Smoother, Clearer Skin

Diet, genetics and lifestyle can all play a major role in the appearance of our skin. If you’re struggling with acne, it’s likely you’ve worked your way down the list of treatment options available with little to no results. Luckily, the field of medical aesthetics is constantly advancing and we’re now able to effectively treat acne with laser, which destroys blemish-causing bacteria and wipes out the marks left behind.

For many of us, there’s a sense of relief that we made it through our teens without severe skin woes and then there it is…we’re presented with the beautiful gift of adult acne. It’s said that 95% of people suffer from some sort of breakouts throughout their lives. Whatever stage you’re in with your acne, whether it’s cystic nodules, pustules or the aftermath, we can erase the impact with Laser Genesis.

Laser Genesis is the commercial name for the Nd:YAG Laser. The Nd:YAG has a host of uses, ranging from the treatment of spider veins and hair removal to improving fine lines, wrinkles and rejuvenating the skin. Laser Genesis delivers micro-pulses of photon energy with a wavelength that gently warms the dermis thereby killing the bacteria that causes acne and improving collagen production to reduce scarring and pore size.

Laser Genesis for acne works by triggering your body’s natural healing response to achieve the results you’ve always dreamed of. Get ready to say hello to clear, smooth, radiant skin with NuAGE Laser!

FAQ

What is Acne Laser Genesis?

A: Acne Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser procedure designed to treat existing acne, prevent future breakouts and reduce the appearance of acne scars.

What can I expect during the treatment? How long does a session last?

A: We kick off the treatment with a relaxing cleanse and microdermabrasion to prepare the skin for the laser. Then, the laser wand will be waved over each area to deliver photon energy until the skin’s internal temperature reaches 39 degrees Celsius. The total treatment time is generally 60 to 75 minutes.

How many treatments will I need?

A: The number of treatments needed varies depending on the baseline condition of your skin and your desired results. We generally recommend a series of six to eight treatments at one to two week intervals for eliminating active acne.

What are the risks and side effects?

A: Acne Laser Genesis is virtually risk free when performed by one of our highly trained NuAGE skin professionals. Protective eyewear is worn by both the client and technician during treatment to ensure eye safety. Post treatment, you may experience some localized redness for one to two days due to the heat applied but most commonly the redness subsides within a few hours.

How does it work?

A: Acne Laser Genesis works by gently heating the dermis below the skin’s surface. This will kill the bacteria that causes acne to get rid of current blemishes and ward off future breakouts. It also stimulates collagen production to reduce pore size and the appearance of acne scars.

When will I see results?

A: Although it can vary based on the individual, most clients have some improvement in skin texture and radiance immediately after the treatment. When treating active acne, you may begin to see a reduction in pustules within one to two weeks post treatment. However, the “wow” moment usually happens after the third or fourth session.

Who is a candidate for Acne Laser Genesis?

A: The ideal candidates are men and women looking to improve the tone and texture of their skin. Acne Laser Genesis works on all skin types and ethnicities.

Is Acne Laser Genesis painful?

A: Since we apply heat, you’ll feel a gentle and relaxing warming sensation without the sharp sting associated with most laser treatments. We use a temperature gun throughout the treatment to ensure the optimal dermal temperature is maintained.
